It has been more than 8 months since my father passed away, yet I still see the events from that grim day as if they are scenes from an awful movie playing on repeat. However, there was one very profound and beautiful moment that I shared with my father during his last days. It was one of those things that I knew, at that very moment, would stay engrained in me forever. In our last conversation, Dad said to me: “Son, I did very well in life. I can buy whatever I want, but I cannot buy more time. Use the time that you have left to make a difference in the lives of others.”
I reflect on Dad’s words every single day and try to live my life accordingly. Even though Dad is not here in the physical form, he is still here guiding me and opening doors in a way only a devoted father could. When I think about him; I see the meaning of a life well lived. A life where you quietly affect change.
